These chairs were made to go with the rebuilt elm table. They use legs and back splats which were steam bent, the legs into compound curves. The wood came from Real Wood Studios in Jedburgh. The compound curve means that these chairs there is some variation in shape but I hope that the simple design makes this in keeping with the feel of the pieces.
This table was originally made about 8 years ago, from planks which I’d carried with me for 5 years before that. But when we moved house it got broken so I had to remake it. Fortunately the top was recoverable and I’m considerably happier with the new version which uses steam bent legs.
